Gentleman versus Dinosaur

I realized only lately (ok so I lie, I realized it multiple times then instantly forgot!) that I hadn’t posted the final version of this WIP.  So without further ado, I present to you “Gentleman versus Dinosaur”.  This piece marks a personal milestone for me, because it’ the first time I really looked at an artwork I’d made and said “Damn, that looks pretty good.”  Of course I then proceeded to check out other work on art sites and brought myself down a peg or two, just to keep me on my toes.   Hope you all like it!

Spaceship designs

No personal artwork up today, so I thought I’d upload this ship designs that I made for a game that’s soon to come out.  I actually think I maybe spent way too much time on these designs, which ultimately were meant to be pieces in a Tetris-like puzzle game.  But it was so much fun designing them that I couldn’t stop!  Take note of the squiggly, child-like writing that says “good ships – curvy”, b”bad ships – edged”.  That was about as much art direction as I gave myself. :P

Robot versus Man

So this is my first real artwork since I let for Singapore, and I quite like it.  I used a picture from an earthquake as a reference and then just fit the huge robot and special ops guys with their tiny rifles in for a sci-fi duel.  Obviously my robot design, especially in the torso area, needs a lot of work.  But I think this is something that will improve over time.

Sci Fi girl

A bit of a crapshoot composition-wise, but overall I’m happy with how this turned out.

Atlas Fortresses

In the year 2112, The world is on the brink of destruction.  The USA and the reformed USSR are on on the verge of nuclear war, and the failure of the Kyoto Protocol has submerged half of the once habitable land on Earth in seawater.  Fearing for the future of mankind, the world’s greatest minds retreat to the mountaintops to build “Atlas Fortresses”, each of which is self sustaining, and contains the seeds and genes of all the world’s flora and fauna.

Need to take a break.  I’ll probably finish it up tomorrow.
